Potato Skins at the Loose Cannon

I was downtown before a meeting with a friend tonight, and we stopped in at the Loose Cannon for a quick drink and a snack. Potato skins were on special for $6, as were wings. Since wings were the normal Thursday night fare in Halifax, we decided to try something different.

These skins were a stellar deal for $6!

There was no holding back on the cheese, lots of bacon - not just bacon bits, but real bacon - green onion, and more than enough sour cream. The skins had just the right cut, midway between overcrispy thin and undercooked thick. I would say that these skins could easily set the gold standard for what a plate of potato skins should be.

If you're in downtown Halifax on a Thursday and want something away from the usual wings, the Loose Cannon's skins are hard to beat.
