Mint Kit Kat Bars

How could anyone improve upon the awesomeness that is a Kit Kat bar? Someone has tried, and while their heart was in the right place, they could have done better.

Now, don't get me wrong - Mint Kit Kats are still pretty awesome. No complaining here, they are exactly what they say they are, and they're tasty.

However, so many different products are out there and manufacturers have just changed something small, and call it ALL NEW!! and expect people to flock to it. What's even worse, when you give people too many choices, they don't buy as readily. Perhaps this is why I'm not working in the marketing industry.

So a mint Kit Kat is just a Kit Kat with some mint-y chocolate around it. Tasty, but ho hum. What could they have done better? Personally, I want to see a Kit Kat with a strip of the filling from an After 8 mint on top of the wafers, then dipped in chocolate as per normal. Maybe even make it dark chocolate, sort of a fusion of After 8 and Kit Kat. If Nestle decides to make these, feel free to send me a box to try. Please.

While looking up some details on Kit Kats (hello Wikipedia's Kit Kat entry), they do come in some very interesting flavors -

Caramac (United Kingdom), Cappuccino (Poland, United Kingdom), Carb Alternatives (United States), Chocolate Overload (Australia), Creamier Chocolate (Canada), Dark Chocolate (Italy, United Kingdom, United States, Ireland, South Africa, United Arab Emirates), Fine Dark (United Kingdom, Spain & Germany), International Recipe (East Asia), Lite (India), Low Carb (United Kingdom), Milky White (Germany), Mint (United Kingdom, United States, Ireland), Mint Chocolate (Australia), Noisette (Hazelnut) (Germany), White Creme (United States) and White Chocolate (Italy).

wow! I'm sure most of our readers have never seen half of those flavors but might like to.

However, if you're reading this from Japan, you are either in Kit Kat Lover's Paradise, or you're in a world where marketing has run amok and turned loose the folks with the flavor additives to sprinkle what they will where they will across the production lines.

According to Wikipedia, you can get flavors such as:

Aloe Vera, Aloe Yogurt, Annin Dofu (Almond jelly), Apple , Apple Vinegar, Azuki (Red Bean flavour), Banana, Beet, Bitter Almond, Black Honey, Black Tea, Blueberry, Blueberry Cheesecake, Butter, Bubblegum (Made with blue chocolate), Brown Sugar Kinako, Cacao 61% (Newer version of 'Kit Kat Bitter' with 61% cocoa content), Cacao 72% (Dark chocolate petits with 72% cocoa content), CafeLatte with Hokkaid Milk, Calpis (Yogurt flavored drink), Cantaloupe, Caramel,Caramel and Salt, Caramel Macchiato, Caramel Pudding, Cheese, Cinnamon, Citrus Golden Blend, Citrus Pepper, Chocolate Banana, Cola and Lemon squash, Cookies & Chocolate, Cookies and Milk, Cookies PLUS, Creamy Apple, Cucumber, Custard Pudding, Dark Chocolate with Cookies for adults, Daigaku imo (Sweet Potato flavour), English Mustard, Espresso, European Cheese, Exotic Kansai (Sweet chocolate with a sour mix of orange, lemon, and passion fruit accented with ginger), Framboise (Raspberry cheesecake), French Salt, Fruit Parfait, Ginger Ale, Green Grape Muscat, Gold (Petits with fudge-like covering and dusted cocoa powder on outside), Golden Peach, Hazelnut, Hascapp (Regional variety available in Hokkaido prefecture. If your jaw's not on the ground after reading all of those, perhaps it's defective - I'll see if I can arrange to get referral fees from a local physiotherapist.

Anyone for a Wasabi Kit Kat?
